Department Overview:

The Department of Architectural Assistantship was established in the year 1979. Presently, the department is offering a three year diploma course with an emphasis on professional training. Its teaching programme covers the broad spectrum of understanding, designing and constructing human habitat and environment. The course opens up opportunities for advanced studies and professional career in designing, planning, constructing and managing of built environment and extends to new frontiers of allied disciplines. The department has an intake of 30 seats.

Vision:
To empower future architects with the knowledge, skills and ethical responsibilities to design sustainable, functional and inspiring spaces that respond to global challenges.

Missions:
  • M1: To disseminate professional education, entrepreneurial expertise and life skills among the students
  • M2: To encompass current trends in architectural design with industry academia interaction with research and development.
  • M3: To incorporate innovation in designing solutions for sustainable socio economic development.


Program Educational Objectives (PEOs):
  • PEO1: To establish continuous learning by employing updated curriculum, emerging techniques and design philosophies.
  • PEO2: To inculcate professional, entrepreneurial, ethical acumen by introducing personality development and career guidance programs.
  • PEO3: To organise seminars, workshops and case studies in collaboration with industry and academia for awareness on real world applications and challenges.
  • PEO4: To innovate in designing of prototypes and project based learning techniques for developing solutions for sustainable socio economic development of society.

Program Outcomes (POs):
  • PO1: Apply knowledge of basic mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and engineering specialization to solve the engineering problems.
  • PO2: Identify and analyze well-defined engineering problems using codified standard methods.
  • PO3: Design solutions for well-defined technical problems and assist with the design of systems components or processes to meet specified needs.
  • PO4: Apply modern engineering tools and appropriate technique to conduct standard tests and measurements.
  • PO5: Apply appropriate technology in context of society, sustainability, environment and ethical practices.
  • PO6: Use engineering management principles individually, as a team member or a leader to manage projects and effectively communicate about well-defined engineering activities.
  • PO7: Ability to analyze individual needs and engage in updating in the context of technological changes.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs):
  • PSO1: Architecture is the ability to identify, analyze, design and development solution to architectural problems. Its also involves applying knowledge from fileld to solve real-world problems.
  • PSO2: Develop sensitivity to the built environment/human related spaces and its contextual response in architectural practice with reference to both local and global practices.
