The Department of Mathematics and Science was founded in 1979. It has three basic sciences:
Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The Department of Mathematics and Science plays a unique and distinctive role in an institute where the ethos of science and technology prevails. It is believed that engineering and science are, by their very nature, humanistic and socially derived enterprises. Hence a complete science and technology education must have a base of mother branches of technology and sciences where the students learn application of scientific principles along with language skill and social understanding.
