Department of Electronics and Telecommunication

Department Overview:

Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering department was established in the year 1985 at Government Polytechnic, Bhubaneswar which offers three years’ diploma course in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and is one of the emerging course in the field of Engineering. Focus of this course is on thorough understanding of Electronics Communication, Networking, Electronics circuits, Signal processing, embedded systems and VLSI design. Our department has created 1200 alumni since 1985 out of which many have opted for higher studies; many have joined various reputed organizations in public and private sectors and research areas. The department has 40 intakes.

Missions:
  • M1: Develop competent Electronics and Telecommunication engineers by imparting technical skills with positive attitude for continuous learning.
  • M2: Provide quality education to enable the learners to get better employment
  • M3: Strengthen the professional skill of students under the guidance of experts from different fields

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs):
  • PEO1: To strengthen the core technical concepts of the learners, which not only will act as a stepping stone at their graduate level but also project them equally skilled with industrial professional of national repute.
  • PEO2: To train the learners to face professional challenges in life through adequate upliftment of their basic life skills& sense of social responsibilities that will drive them in future to grab the industrial leading opportunities with divergent managerial skills limiting to quality, cost & time factors.
  • PEO3: To motivate the learners for utilization of modern tools & equipment through programming interface under analysis and synthesis of need based industrial real time problems.
  • PEO4: To promote the learners for innovative development through self-driven skills and to emerge as role models for others of their domain too.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs):
  • PSO1: Acquire adequate knowledge upon analysis of specific engineering problems of communication, networking, electronics circuits, signal processing, embedded systems, VLSI design using application of knowledge on basic sciences, mathematics and engineering fundamentals.
  • PSO2: Be able to design and implement over the acquired technical knowledge and logical thinking in the field of Electronics & Telecommunication.
